We lost our power last night when the rain and the strong wind gusts took down a tree just down the street. The tree brought down the lines and snapped the pole and the transformer exploded like a cannon blast. The fire department showed up right away in the teeth of the storm and blocked the road and stabilized the situation. By the time I got out of bed this morning, the guys from Central Maine Power already had a new pole up and were beginning the delicate task of transferring the lines and a new transformer to the new pole. By 11:30 am we had power back. These guys are beautiful in my eyes.
